This butterfly of 24-26 cm of wingspan is incredibly similar to the Erebia aethiops and differs only from the width of the white band present towards the rear of the lower wing, much narrower in the ligea. uite common in the Pelarctic, frequents hills and mountain zones up to 2500 metres.
