Family : Nymphalidae

The Cethosia penthesilea lives in the extreme south-east of Asia and in northern Australia. Widely diffysed and present in good number, it frequents environments with thick and rich vegetation. The upper face of the wings shows a very bright and evident golden orange colouration that distinguishes it from the many congeners with whom it shares the territory. Wingspan of 7 cm. Caterpillars feed on Adenia heterophylla © Giuseppe Mazza
