Cathartes burrovianus Family : Cathartidae The Lesser yellow-headed vulture (Cathartes burrovianus) is, as the etymology of the scientific name of the genus where it is placed recites, a “purifier” as it mainly nourishes of the carrions of rotten organisms. It lives in Central and South America and is an excellent glider with very evolved aerial capacities.
