Ara severus Family : Psittacidae With about 40 cm, the Severe macaw (Ara severus) is the smallest member of this genus. It lives in South America tropical areas where is diffused and common. It moves in couple or in groups of at most twenty individuals looking for forest fruits: mainly the palms ones, nuts and seeds that at times enriches with some clay to neutralize their toxins.
