Calidris alba Family : Scolopacidae The Sanderling (Calidris alba) is the typical wader of the beaches of North Palearctic and Nearctic, where is seen chasing the surf, looking for small invertebrates. Only a twenty centimetres long, is endowed of an agility and of a speed in running hardly comparable with other birds. During the migration it gathers in large flocks, doing air evolutions of an incredible mastery.
